Post-Operative
Recovery CareHealing belongs at home.
Surgery is stressful enough — the recovery shouldn't be too. Our licensed vet techs visit your home to monitor healing, manage wounds, check vitals, and make sure your pet is comfortable and on track.
We coordinate directly with your veterinarian and flag any concerns immediately, so you have professional eyes on your pet's progress every step of the way.
What we do at every visit
A thorough, protocol-driven recovery check so nothing slips through the cracks between post-op appointments.
Incision inspection & wound cleaning
Check for swelling, redness, discharge, or dehiscence. Gentle cleaning per your vet's protocol.
Bandage & dressing changes
Sterile re-wrapping, drain care, and proper tension so the bandage works — and stays on.
Vital sign monitoring
Heart rate, respiration, temperature, hydration, and mucous membrane color — every visit, logged.
Mobility & comfort assessment
Pain scoring, gait check, appetite and hydration review so we catch setbacks early.
Written report to your vet
Same-day visit summary sent directly to your DVM so the whole care team stays aligned.
Recovery, simplified
When your pet is healing, the last thing they need is a car ride and a waiting room.
Most post-operative complications — infection, dehiscence, over-activity — show up in the first 10–14 days after surgery. That's the exact window where a professional set of hands and eyes makes the biggest difference, and the exact window where clinic visits are hardest on a groggy, sore pet.
Pad fills that gap. A licensed vet tech comes to you, does the skilled nursing work your vet would otherwise do in-clinic, and sends a documented report back to your DVM so everyone stays on the same page.

"Biscuit had ACL surgery and we were terrified about the recovery. Pad's vet tech came every other day for two weeks — changing bandages, checking his incision, and making sure he was taking his pain meds. He healed faster than expected and never had to leave home once. It was a game changer."
