Cat-Specific
CareOn their terms. In their home.

Cats are notoriously stressed by carrier trips and clinic environments — and that stress can actually worsen their health. Pad is uniquely equipped to care for cats in the one place they feel completely safe: home.

Our vet techs are experienced in feline body language, low-stress handling techniques, and the particular health concerns cats face — from dental hygiene to ear health, kidney disease, and beyond.

Subcutaneous fluids for CKD management

Essential hydration support for cats with chronic kidney disease, administered gently and consistently at home on your schedule.

Medication administration (oral & injectable)

Expert delivery of oral medications, liquids, and injections for cats who resist at-home dosing or need precise timing.

Care designed for cats

Most veterinary care wasn't designed with cats in mind. We were.

Cats aren't small dogs — they have unique stress responses, different physiology, and often mask illness until it's advanced. The clinic environment itself can spike their cortisol, affect blood pressure readings, and make exams less accurate. At home, your cat can be assessed as they truly are.

Our vet techs understand feline communication, know how to move slowly and read body language, and carry out every procedure with the patience cats require. The result is better care, less trauma, and a cat who isn't hiding under the bed for three days after a visit.

Common cat care questions

What cat owners ask most about at-home feline vet tech visits.

My cat hides whenever strangers come over. Will this work? +
This is the most common concern we hear — and it's exactly why home visits work so well for cats. Our vet techs arrive calmly, move slowly, and let your cat dictate the pace. We're experienced in coaxing shy or anxious cats, and we'll never force an interaction. Most cats do far better at home than they ever did at the clinic.
Can you administer subcutaneous fluids for my cat with kidney disease? +
Yes — this is one of the most common services we provide for cats. We'll follow your vet's fluid volume and frequency orders precisely, and can set up a regular schedule so your cat gets consistent support without the stress of repeat clinic trips.
My cat needs medication twice a day. Can you help? +
We can visit as frequently as your cat's care plan requires, and we'll also teach you the techniques we use so you feel confident with between-visit doses. For cats who are particularly resistant to pilling, we have several approaches that make it much less of a battle.
Do I need a referral from my vet? +
Not for most services like nail trims, ear cleaning, or dental hygiene. For medical services like subcutaneous fluids or injectable medications, we do require a current prescription or written order from your veterinarian. We're happy to help request records on your behalf.
